LIGHT UP THE NIGHT ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

The resident must be the registered property owner or lessee.
The resident must register with a valid phone number and email contact.
Only one registration per email address.
The resident must have a working fixture for the insertion of your FREE Dusk to Dawn LED Bulbs.
Note: *This program does not install or repair Light Fixture.*

Why Lights Matter!

Lighting helps to identify address numbers from the street.
They are an important aide for 1st Responders, Letter Carriers, and Package Handlers.
Increases visibility, safety, security and energy savings for residents.
Reduces the potential for criminal activity and inappropriate street behavior.
Enhances the appearance of your neighborhood at night by adding ambient lighting.

Porch Safety Tips

Always keep the area around your doors, and windows well lit.
Install a wire basket around any outdoor light bulbs so they cannot be removed or damaged.
Leave the power switch in the positive or on position(it costs about 11 cents a month for a 5W LED bulb).
Keep trees and shrubs trimmed back from windows, doors and walkways.
Encourage your neighbor to register for community safety and security.

Participation in the "Light Up The Night" campaign will allow MECRO and volunteers to install up to 4 FREE Energy Efficient, LED Dusk to Dawn Security Light Bulbs in your existing electrical light fixtures. Note: A minimum of 75% Block Participation is required to qualify for this FREE Corridor Light Program.
